We have two BBQ Sauces this season. One is great: Smokey Tangy Hot; the other is flippin’ amazing: Sweet & Tangy. Both packed with early harvested stone fruits, lots of green apricots and peaches. We smoked some, we roasted some, we grilled some and then the magic happened.
Smoky Tangy Hot - jalapeños and serrano chilies combined with green onions, garlic, lavender, marigolds and tomatoes slow cooked in brown sugar, ground mustard, and a combo of vinegars to create this fun Smokey & Spicy delight.
Sweet & Tangy - this one presented the two biggest challenges this season, making fennel NOT taste like licorice. Green peaches, fennel, eggplant, zucchini, tomatoes, brown sugar and vinegar make the base for this bombshell of flavor. Please, please, please share with us how you used it.
